Edward Muybridge

In class we had learnt about Edward Muybridge was a British photographer that specifically worked on motion within photography. During his early career life he decided to move to America where a famous business man/ horse owner hired Muybridge for his photographic skills. At the time the question arose "Do all four of the horses hooves come of the floor when trotting?"Muybridge then set up a sequence of cameras to take pictures of the horse every second as it was trotting. By looking at the pictures one after the other it then gave of the illusion that the horse was still trotting in the pictures.

We then watched a short video which explained to us what "bullet time" is. Bullet time is a specific technique that directors use to get different angles of the same shot and can also be used as a to film slow motion scenes. This technique is also known as persistence of vision which is when multiple pictures are blended together to create one scene.
